Sunday is my favorite day of the week not only because I am able to go and praise and worship him with friends and family but because here is where my mind is silent and my brain cooperates.  Here I am able to listen to that still quiet voice and I am also able to be heard.  In this sanctuary there is always movement. Movement in the actual physical body and movement in the soul and in the heart.  This day was no different. The spirit moved in the house by way of my 12-year-old friend who is going through chemotherapy for her brain cancer – the spirit moved in her writing and in her words and in my reading those words to the congregation. She is an amazing writer and a young girl who is so expressive on paper that it is mind-boggling. The  feeling of “this too shall pass” came over me; a feeling that says she is going to be alright and when she comes out she will be stronger.  I believe that if you speak your requests with a humble and contrite heart the way that this 12-year-old seeks God; you will be blessed. The blessing may not come directly to you, as if from out of the clear blue sky; your blessing may come in the wind.
